About us
Robert Mann Architecture and Design Pty Ltd (formally known as Robert Mann Design Pty Ltd) was founded in 2011 within the pristine environment of Sydney’s Blue Mountains. Prior to this Robert had been practicing as sole practitioner since 2008.
Our mission is to elevate architectural theory and practice and we seek to achieve this through a dual business model, with a focus on profession and education.
Our Studio
Our design studio serves the architectural needs of Sydney from the beaches to the ranges, and beyond.
We specialise in providing sustainable luxurious living, both new residences – single dwelling and side-by-side duplex, as well as alterations and additions to existing homes.
Our past projects range from traditional lofts and cabins, historically sensitive alterations, contemporary dwellings and expansive luxurious homes. These project have utilised many traditional, sustainable and innovative building products and systems in order to achieve practical living and sustainable design.
With my wife, Ellen, we have also personally built two homes within the Blue Mountains and are in the process of completing our third in 2022. We have experience in designing homes for Flame Zone (FZ) Bushfire rating, and also for all types of slope constraints.

Integrating a Building Information Modelling workflow from start to finish, we can provide stunning visualisations and animations to aid in design certainty, as well as detailed documentation and quantification that ensure construction accuracy.

Robert Mann
Robert is a registered Architect with over 20 years experience, from small scale residential to high-rise commercial design, and many typologies in between. He is the Director of Robert Mann Architecture and Design Pty Ltd and ArchiED, with a mission ‘To Elevate Architectural Theory and Practice’.
Robert couples his professional architectural practice with academic development and lecturing. His inquisitive approach to achieving best practice outcomes in construction materials and systems results in practical and creative design solutions with a focus on sustainability and liveability.
Highly valued for his expertise and and down-to-earth approach, ArchiED represents Robert’s continued influence in providing exceptional value to the local and international architectural community as a specialist in ArchiCAD, a market leading Building Information Modelling platform.
